Clinical Counseling Intern

Counseling Approach

Each individual is uniquely shaped by their life experiences, including the inevitable experiences of pain, loss, anxiety, and joy in human life. Even in the midst of tremendous pain and suffering there is opportunity to find meaning, purpose and vitality. My goal as a clinician is to foster a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental environment in which you can share your life experiences and gain new perspective and understanding. I am here to guide you as you work through life’s challenges and provide you with effective tools and techniques to live a more fulfilling life.

I use an Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) approach to therapy, combined with techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am currently being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and attachment repair.

I have experience working with individuals ranging in age from adolescents to older adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma responses, relationship issues, attachment issues and adverse life events. I am completing my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Northern Colorado.
